This epic tale—50 years in the making—is the amazing journey of Don Aslett, janitor extroidinare and bestselling author. From his humble beginnings on the Idaho farm, this "outhouse to penthouse" account takes you step-by-step through the his unbelievable story…

Don started his company, Varsity Contractors, Inc. (then, the College Cleanup Team) in 1956 as a way to put himself and others through school. His company, now a 250+ million-dollar corporation, is one of the top names in facility services in the United States.

s his company grew he began writing books and in 1980 he wrote what became the definitive book on the subject of cleaning and organization, Is There Life After Housework? With the success of "Life" he went on to write more than 30 books including cleaning classics: Clutter's Last Stand, Do I dust or Vacuum First?, and most recently Help! Around the House (2007).

This book is an inspiring trip through time following Don's rise to the top of his field. The light-hearted stories he shares will have a profound effect on your life whether in business or in your personal life.

For those of you who missed it Don was featured on The Jay Thomas Show live on Sirius Satellite Radio January 14th! He was asked about his new book, How I Swept My Way to the Top and the new Museum of Clean which is currently under construction here in Pocatello Idaho. If you would like to hear the interview simply click HERE or on the image above! CAUTION: Although the show is lighthearted and fun it was a little irreverent and could offend some people.

Wishing you and yours a clean holiday and sparkling new year!

Its been a terrific year here in the Aslett world, and we've been thrilled to have you all along to be a part of it. This year thousands of lives were touched by the power of clean through Don's seminars, the new books that came out this year, a great year on QVC, and more! We are looking forward to another big year that marks the 50th year in business of Don's contracting company (Varsity Contractors, Inc.) and as a result, a year of festivities are about to begin. This monumental feat is scheduled to take place in line with Varsity's 50th, Don's 50th wedding anniversary, and Varsity's annual meeting all taking place here in Pocatello, Idaho. Get a preview of the coming museum here!

So here's to you and yours, wishing you all happy holidays and a fantasic (and clean!) new year.

Catch a Glimpse…

Into Don Aslett latest and perhaps greatest project ever! Many of you may know that Don has, for many years, had a museum located in the Varsity Contractors, Inc. (Don's company) corporate office. This museum is a showcase of more than 100 years of cleaning history, featuring antiques and tools of the trade dating back to the days of early cleaners.

Recently, Don aquired quite possibly the worlds finest collection of cleaning tools (primarily pre-electric vaccums) from Swiss collector Peter Frei, and with this collection Don is planning the construction the worlds largest cleaning museum that will feature this priceless collection in its entirety as well as items don has collected over the last 20+ years.

To this end a 5-story, 60,000 square foot building has been purchased in Pocatello, Idaho (Location of Don's corporate offices and current 1,500 square foot museum) and is currently undergoing a huge rennovation. Once completed Don's museum will be the world's most widely recognized cleaning museum featuring many one of a kind items including a replica of the horse-drawn vacuum cleaners used by professionals in the 1800's, and a "port-a-potty" belonging to Elisabeth of Bavaria (Royal Princess Elisabeth of Bavaria, Sisi) who was murdered in 1898 on Lake Geneva in Switzerland, to name a few.

All that to say this, Don's museum is already gathering steam, and popularity a year before its scheduled completion. On thursday July 6th the radio program "Speaking on Business" will feature a brief segment that will spotlight the coming museum. It will be aired at a number of locations throughout Idaho, click here for a complete list of stations and airtimes, as well as a script of the program.
